Has anybody noticed that almost the only people that get page views are the people that draw Animae fan art? Is this just considered fine art? Or is it because DeviantARt is just full of young Weeaboos?

That's why I stopped going to deviantART, aside from uploading a picture or two every like, month. Nobody gives me constructive criticism on there because I don't draw anime or furry art.

That's also why I'm glad that we have an art portal now. I have a greater chance of actually getting feedback on my work instead of just having my irl friends go "that's cool".

Just go to the homepage and count all the Naruto/Death Note/Inuyasha/DBZ/etc anime fan art. It greatly outweighs the creative and awesome artwork that is barely recognized on the site.

Now that the Art Portal is out, I don't have to suffer deviantART.

It's very soul destroying to have your hard work ignored because it's not bright, colourful and FUCKING ANIME FAN ART.

DeviantART is just a collection of Japanophiles without an ounce of originality to them. You look at the front page of the Art Portal and you can instantly see the eclectic styles that a site like Newgrounds can bring.

Fuck deviantART.

That's the whole reason why I left Deviant Art. My photoshops almost never got any comments because my art wasn't some half naked anime cat girl. From that experience, I got discouraged from posting photoshops outside of the Newgrounds BBS.

Not to mention a lot of them are either ass kissers or complete snobs. No matter how bad your art is, the average commentor will praise it to no end. As for the snobs with a huge superiority complex for having page views in the tens of thousands, Deviant Art is full of them when there is drama of any sort.

After leaving Deviant Art, I came to appreciate Newgrounds more.

To put it in perspective, one of my non-erotic stories got about 20 or 30 views.

I don't go on DeviantArt, mostly to avoid raging at discolors of my favorite characters in fan art. I try to draw my own characters, but seeing as my skills are not... let's say up to par for the course, I don't pay much attention to the art portal, although I do want to start sketching out logos for fake teams,companies, etc.

Devart still has some good stuff to use as a background, but for artists, it's pretty bad. I'm sure most users are 12 year olds who use it as a pron site
