I have decided to overclock my 8800GTS card, to get some better performance in games.
But since i have never overclocked before, I do not want to fuck it up.
So yeah I'm trying to get a little boost in games, but kinda safe.
-Factory Settings:
Core clock: 513MHz
Memory clock: 792MHz
Shader clock: 1188MHz
Idle GPU temp: 55C Under Load GPU temp: 60C-70C
Ive seen that people ussualy have over 600MHz core but since it's my first time im kinda scared to do it, I was thinking of putting:
Core clock: 577MHz
Memory clock: 835MHz
Shader clock: 1188MHz
Would I notice a difference in games, with that change? If not what setting would be good and safe for me?

If your warranty is still active, don't do it.

You'll notice almost no change with those settings. make sure you fan is at 100% at all times.
Core clock: 600MHz
Memory clock: 855MHz
Shader clock: 1300MHz
Try a base, the tune it out.

If it breaks because of intentional overclocking, you won't be able to get a new one from the company, free of cost.

If your card is EVGA brand, your warranty is not voided by overclocking. If not, that doesn't matter much. A company has no way of checking if you've overclocked your card.
To overclock your card, you will need two programs, Rivatuner and Furmark. The best strategy is to turn your fan to 100% while OCing. There should be an option to link your shader clock to your core clock. Do that. As a rule, raise your core clock 10mhz, then run Furmark to stress test it. Repeat until you get artifacts(graphical errors, looks something like this), then lower your core clock 5mhz. Then do the same for your memory. This will get you your highest possible overclock.
You don't need to run 100% fan all the time, but if you forget to turn it up while gaming, bad things will happen.
Good luck!

add some fans and heat sinks. You can over clock the shit out of it as long as you make sure it doesn't get too hot.

I didn't know Romans were educated in the field of overclocking.

If your warranty hasn't expired yet, don't do it.

I have clicked "find optimal settings" NVIDIA Control Panel and it changed everything to this.
core 658 MHz from 513
memory 966 MHz from 792
shader 1463 MHz from 1188
Seems like a big jump to me.
Can I trust the optimal setting of the nvidia control panel?

Screw that the nvidia test fails after 600 core Mhz

You can probably get anywhere from 700-750 core clock if you do what I suggested. In fact, 658mhz is below the default clocks of some 8800s. I don't know how your card got all the way down to 513.
