Hey Newgrounds, you're pretty awesome. I know it's common thought that most of you don't feel that way about yourselves anywhere except online. But, I know better than that.
You guys can be pretty stupid sometimes, rather lame, and downright unoriginal and entirely unfunny. Even often.
But that's no different than anywhere else. The fact is, there's something about this community that is fresh and invigorating. Never before in my life have I found myself so inexplicably drawn to such an eclectic community. I take time off, but I still come back every now and again. I still check in. I still see what's up. This psuedo-anonymous forum is more interesting to me than most of my friends on facebook.
But, I'm not singing your praises for no good reason. I mean, you guys've been great when it comes to downtime. I'm not productive when I'm here but, as some of you may know already, I use these forums to keep my command of diction up to scratch. I've experimented with amelioration, sometimes successfully (resulting in lasting goodwill toward once bitter rivals), and sometimes unsuccessfully. I'd say I'm better for the experience.
Why? Well... I dunno. It's just what I feel, and I wanted to thank y'all for bein' around and for the most part just being downright interesting. This place has taught me tons about people's behavior and I've found things that apply to real life. They need not be shared, because I don't feel they're necessary to posit for your interpretation or rejection. That's counter-productive.
Find your own way to incorporate what you learn about people here. Just make sure the lesson's conclusion is positive. Because frankly: I love you guys for your "no fuck you" attitude, but it's typically not the best way to go about things unless you know how and when it's to be used (and it's rarely).
Anyway, thanks.
What're some positive impacts Newgrounds has had on your personal development? I know some of you feel as if you're wasting away on this site (if you feel this way... get the fuck outside and do some shit already instead of whining), but I hope the majority feel as if their experience is positive and are willing to share.
