Fix this up for me?

I drew this when I was 11.
I'm currently 14, and I'm a much better artist. But I've been dieing to tryout the art portal and this is the only piece of art I had on my computer.javascript:BBSPost.Save();
I was wondering if anybody could fix up the lighting with photo shop because of the shitty picture I took of it a while back. I want it to look better when I submit it to the portal.
It would be greatly appreciated!

No camera or scanner! I found this file on my comp

I didn't think it was THAT bad.
The bottom of the face could use some work as well as the hair.
Also the shadowing clashes with itself.

Gah the more I look the more my 11 yearold dreams left inside me break and die.
