How about the Back to the Future III? I didn't like the second one too much, it was ok, but the third one is a classic.

There's Army of Darkness (technically).

Those two movies were absolutely atrocious, they should have just left it at the first one and call it that.

The only movie series I can think of where the sequel(s) were better than the original would be The Matrix Series. The Star Wars sequels were pretty good as well, but I actually prefered the first one- or the fourth one, depending on how you look at it.

First transformers movie was not good by any means,
so why would a sequal to it be better?

Definitely Ace Ventura 2. It was so much better than the original.

Oceans 12, it was a good movie compared to some other sequels

or The Empire Strikes Back

Back To The Future Part 2 - I just loved how it managed to twist the first film into the second film, and the entire concept was rather intelligent. They never should've made the third movie, though.
