It's not meant to be. Kotaku and this thread's titles are slightly sensationalized. The actual quote is a "new Xbox 360." The inclusion of 360 indicates it isn't a new console, but possibly minor upgrade with Natal included. Natal is in for sure, but the earlier rumors from 1UP indicated that there would be some upgrades, like more memory. They speculated that the current 360's would still play future games, but performance might be better on the new updated Xbox Natal.

Ballmer's quote doesn't indicate such changes, but they're certainly still a possibility.

i dont think you need to buy a whole new xbox to get that new feature, i think you can buy that thing seperatly and just connect the 2, cuz that new one just has the project natal (pronounced nee-tall) thing with it.

That thing is seeexy. It looks like a satellite reciever, but thinner and more inviting. I'm not gonna buy it if it really launches though, it looks like it only has a camera so far.

It's not a new console but rather a revamped 360. The obvious thing being it would include Natal. Perhaps some upgraded things from the original Xbox 360 like no disc tray, slimmer, etc but it definitely is not a new console. Xbox 360 Lite.

That's not the new console, in fact Microsoft said there's no official word on an integrated 360 with Natal (if you think about it why would you want a camera in your 360? You'd have to put your 360 on top of your TV), dickmunch

for the love of pete, Project Natal is something that you may plug into your Xbox 360 to play w/out a controller. Microsoft says that they are keeping the current Xbox 360 for many years to come.
