*****QUESTION/S ALERT*****
I have this awesome hand drawn picture which I will upload soon but there is my name which in the picture is "King Exo" which is kind of the text (I memorized it) that is in my signature which is made by jackAtack but am I aloud to upload it giving him some of the credit due to it also being the signature of my picture? My picture isn't awesome quality but I worked on it for the past 4 hours and everything came from my head. Now the real question is that am I aloud to take a real life picture and then upload it onto paint and then save it as jpg. and aloud to upload it or does it all have to be down with Flash?

Hey! I submit some art and a message says "This user has not been scouted yet." What is that?! Can Someone help Me!?

So far, this Art Portal is pretty fucking balls. Isn't there some way to pass judgment or get rid of a piece of "Art" if it scores horrendously low by a certain number of people? I mean, honestly, I've found that a great deal of the Art is just shit, or at times, stolen. Though, I'm sure this concern will slowly dissipate over the days... I hope.

If your artwork is good a scouter will scout your work to appear in the portal. Once scouted you can scout others and your work appears in the portal every time you submit. You can also get votes on your submissions once you're scouted too.

While I like the idea of the Art Portal, I have to agree with this guy.

I mean, 2,600+ submissions in two days? I doubt any of the really good submissions are actually getting much recognition this way. They simply get lost and forgotten between the hundreds of mediocre and poor submissions.

Also I don´t really like the idea of the scout system, because it´s obvious that people are gonna abuse it and help eachother no matter how crappy their artworks are. I found out that I can even scout myself with my alt account if I want to. And like ReignOfHell said, I´ve already seen quite a bunch of submissions which were on the edge of being spam in my eyes, having scores well below 1.00 or even 0.00 in some cases. It would be nice if there was also a filter based on scores and votes like in the flash portal so that only the good pieces stay.

But I know that it´s still in a very early alpha phase, so I guess I shouldn´t complain too much yet. With some improvements I think it could become a pretty interesting part of the site.

The art portal moderators have a low count of people so it takes a while for them to take out the bad submissions. If you look at the forums it takes 30+ (not sure how many but I know it's over 30) to take care of 300+ users every day and there are only like 11 art mods + the few admins that work in the art portal to take care of thousands of submissions. At least they're trying and plus as you said it's still in the alpha phase I suppose so they're still working out the system.

Great idea and well done to all the devs and testers. Some great stuff in there already. However, the large volume of overdone anime characters is a bit worrying...

We should probably have an anime/manga section. I'm not against manga at all, but I think it will make things easier for several reasons to have it set apart.

Hate to be a downer, but one thing I noticed is that on the bottom of the page where they have the links to the flash and audio portals, that there isn't a link for the Art Portal. It may have been easily overlooked over all the blood, sweat, and tears poured into this, but I just thought I would point it out, although it may be my browser.

you're so right. because obviously, k******************.com is the only website where you can upload artwork.

and the fact that newgrounds already has a flash and audio portal, and they wanted to expand to a different type of media doesn't change the fact that they're outright concept thieves.

if they wanted to have a new type of portal why'd they have to make it an art portal, yknow? they should have gone with the Lit Portal.... no wait, then they'd be stealing from writers-network.com or booksie.com.

Just go to your userpage and you'll find it there. You're not scouted anyway so it won't appear in the Art Portal.

I was wondering if getting banned in the Art Portal is permanent or temporary?

Also, I'm trying to get this straight about the scouting system:

Lets say User1 scouted User2. Then User2 scouted User3. Then User3 scouted User4. Then User4 becomes unscouted for submitting spam or something. Who in the "tree" would this affect?

Very awesome idea. Another way to add more user created work to the site.

I love this art portal idea although the points raised before are decent, I'm sure everything will iron out in due time =)

I have put up just a few of my recent things, one of which was a nice animation of ryu training on his stage in japan. I created it myself and didn't just pull it off the internet, the whole thing took me about 2 hours to make. But it has been taken off due to a violation, which I have read but don't see where it applies to me. Has anyone else had anything taken off?

i think you guys forgot to include some art portal features on the user page. The Art Reviews on the right column under Music Reviews and Flash Reviews. The Latest Art Submissions next to the Latest Flash Submission and etc.

I see photographs which have had two filters applied to them before being submitted and is hailed as amazing art with straight 10 reviews and 4.5 in score. And I'm not talking good filters like sharpen edges either, I'm talking god awful ones like glowing edges or graphic pen.

Are we going to have some kind of honours for the art portal like the flash and audio portals by the way? Some kind of weekly top five or something of the sort.

Why don't our submissions show up on our profiles?
