I'm finding it funny how some users have Red Scare styled attitudes to the Art Portal and the supposedly upcoming Literature Portal. Newgrounds has a pretty unique subcutural identity. The forums and some submissons may lack in originality at times in various ways, but ideas being implemented that have already been done on other websites won't necessarily be reproduced brick by brick on Newgrounds. There's a variety of styles in how the website is run to work with the website's different features, and I think that's something that can, and should be, appreciated greatly. I think we can do without the bad stereotyping too, but I suppose that will be a mainstay in how people interact on the Internet, hmm.
As for myself, well, I won't be submitting much, if anything, to the Art Portal, but I'm sure it will be enjoyable for me. Seriously, I'm such an awful artist, if Satan himself logged onto Newgrounds via his terrible Hell dial-up connection, he would be offended by my "contribution". I'm sure plenty of users are going to be more than happy though, so have fun and all that.
