I'm Mexican.
And Mexicans are a mixture of Native American (of the Mejica tribes-- hence "Mexican") and European.
I don't look very Mexicany... people confuse me for Portuguese, Spanish, sometimes White.
But I have quite a few of the Native American traits...
Lactose Intolerance...
The bellshaped index toe
The shovel-shape of the front teeth
My mom probably had more traits than me although we're both light skinned... she had absolutely no body hair not even on her armpits.
I grow hair, but it takes a while for me to grow a beard.
well, asside from Passamaquoddy, Im also, German, Irish, Norwegian, and Swedish. as a result, I dont have Indian features really
- Blonde
- Blue Eyes
- Thumb that bends back
- Caucasian bump in the back of the head.
Now I have a friend, who is as much indian genetically as I am[ hes apachi ] and hes also German, Irish, and English, and he, looks indian
-Dark
-Dark Hair/Eyes
-Has the bent back thumb though
-and no Caucasian bump
so, Genetics are a weird thing, and thats the problem with being native, is there has been so much integration, that the indians are, not indentifying as being indian
if you didnt know me, and I met you, and told you I was Indian, youd laugh at me, but my ancestors are my ancestors, regardless of how I look as a result. and just one ancestor, means that thousands and thousands of peoples genetics are in you.
