YOU. MAKE. NO. SENCE!

But why do you have an external, they are slower and about twice as expensive

Nothing is deleted. You need to completely fill the drive, then empty it with file assassin over and over again.
It will take a long time, but it will almost make it perfectly clean.

Well I know professional filmmaking or music producing takes up vast amounts of file space. Raw footage/audio, basically.

Higher quality for videos, if you go to sites like 4chan for images they won't last very long if you really like a picture.

1TB of music shows movies etc would be awesome. My dad probably has over 50G of hard drive space used already on the iMac we have.

1TB would be a porn addict's dream, storing all their favorite porn on to that shit... weird.

I get along just fine with my 40 GB HDD. Anything that isn't used for over a month is deleted (except for real important things, like school work). Once you learn to be organized on the computer, then it'll be easier to learn to be organized in real life.

I have a 1TB harddrive, and I've only had the computer a month or two, and I've only got 674GB left. That's just from music copied from my old PC, half a dozen games, and a few films and TV episodes. I honestly can't work out where it's all gone.

My buddy filled his two 750 Gigabyte Hard Drives with anime, porn, anime porn, Sitcoms, sitcom porn, music, music porn, and tv shows.

Needless to say, yes he pirates/torrents.

Warning nerd Rage

A 1TB DRIVE DOES NOT HAVE 1000GB's, IT ONLY HAS AROUND 931GB's!

Now, I bet your thinking "lol wtf is he on". But its true, many people think that 1mb = 1000kb's, 1gb = 1000mb's and 1tb = 1000gb's.

But thats untrue because the way computers and people see these is different, a computer sees 1tb as 931gb's, whereas the people who advertise the Hard Drive see its as 1000gb's.

And that is true. I promise you that at least the 1TB = 931GB's is true.

40GB is not enough for anyone who uses a computer more than to just check email and browse the web. Many new games have installs pushing 5GB, and I have over 30GB of music on my PC. That doesn't really leave much space on a 40GB HDD, does it?

Look, you simply have to download 910 GB of porn. Which I believe is all pieces of porn you can find on the internet. By the time you're done, every man will lie up outside your house.

Or you can cherish the fact you have 910 GB free space and waste it slowly.

Sure I love gaming on my PC, but if I don't play the game for awhile, I place my user files in a folder and uninstall the game, and maybe install it when I feel like playing again. Over the course of 4 years I have acquired about 2 GB of music/pictures and wonder how other people can go over that in just one.

You're right, I need a larger drive.

*sigh*

I also use a 40GB Hard Drive. Compared to the rest of my computer components, it's complete shit. Though I can manage with only 40GB. And I have two games that push the 5GB installation. Personally, I can't really picture myself occupying over 150GB. Even if I quelled my habit to deleting partially unnecessary files to a much larger extent, it just seems awkward.

Some of my photoshop psd files can hit upwards of 5 gigs each, and my more recent AfterEffects files and .movs have been in the 30 gig range each, and they're not even full animations. Of course there are ways to compress those files, but if you're an artist and constantly producing works, you probably already have terabytes of info on multiple drives anyway. Having it all on a single drive instead of ten 100gb drives is just convenience. It's not a drive for your average computer user.

This is pure, assisted self-destruction
