Well, in this economy, there aren't many options, especially if you're pretty young. Basically, you have to either know people with connections or get lucky to get a job, especially this late in the game or if you have no prior job experience.

If you really want a job, you're going to have to be willing to work a pretty shitty job.

I'm 19, and have previous work experience and still can't get a job. Honestly though I'd rather not have a job at all than stoop to working at a fast food place or something but that's because my parents still support me...

I feel bad for people and adults that are having a hard time finding a job, considering I didn't have a hard time at all, and the job I have now found me.

I just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and was asked by the boss of a place called Ace Hardware if I wanted a job as a cashier. To which I immediately said yes, filled out an application, had an interview and was hired on the spot.

Of course most of my friends and the people I know think it's funny that a female is working at a hardware store, but I find the place to be amazing. Plus I get a huge discount on anything I want to buy, and so do all of my family members.

Just remember that filling out an application and returning it to the place you want to work isn't enough. After a couple of days you should be calling to talk to a manager about checking on your application. That sort of stuff shows that you are really interested in getting the job.

Go to small stores that only pay minimum wage, like Fast Food restaurants or Super Market cashiers, not many people want jobs that pay that little, so there's less competition for them.

Try your local grocery store like Publix or something like that. They might hire you as a bag boy cause im getting a job there and I'm only 15
