I made a post earlier today on the art forum saying that i was struggling with drawing a cartoon of myself, however that got deleted because i didnt actually include a picture of my art work
So here is a picture of it, its far from perfect, but just remind yourselves that i have never drawn anything on a computer before this from scratch!
Opinions?

Thats really good!i like it when people draw themselves.the pic itself is good, but the shading looks messy.other than that though, its great!

More than decent but it wouldn't have hurt if you had put some more efford into this. That way you really get to learn face stucture and so forth. And your shadowing will also greatly improve doing that. It's great that you are doing what you are doing though. WIth practices like this you will get alot better in a short time. Also try to do some other people from diffirent agles, it's chalanging but really fun.
Would love to see some of your work that you have put some more efford in.

I actually wanted it to be quite simplistic! However i do aggree that the shading needs work!

Not to sound like an ass but, i don't like it. The lines look very crooked and rushed, shading also needs help.
keep working at it and who knows what'll happen.

Then still jaw lines and so forth could use work, they feel very rushed. Also try working those extreme nose lines away with shading. It will look alot better I promise. ;p

^^^^^LOL I think thats a complement(i dont think i spelt that right)
And btw its meant to be a cartoon, i understand what some of you are saying and im not disaggreeing with you, but its a cartoon, cartoons dont usually have lots of detail etc! But yeah maybe the jaw structure and shading does need work LOL

try and look at the image you are referencing and actually work out the shapes, start with circles and volume. tracing over a picture really isnt going to get you everywhere, if you dont understand what you are tracing.
