I have at least 3 good reasons why this teacher should not be allowed to teach ever again.

1. Aren't teacher's that work with 6 year olds supposed to not only teach students about that fundamentals of learning, but also to respect each other? This "teacher's" method in educating with the reality-television lesson(which is horrible to start with) threw hate towards this student. When you think of it, she could be charged with a hate crime.

2. By expelling the student from the room without good reasoning, the teacher is violating the law of teaching by keeping this innocent student from learning!

3. 4 words. She had him traumatized.

I got to say, how can she live with herself. The fact that she was "joyful" when she was rehired disgusts me. I am trying my god danged hardest not to go on a rage about this.

I read the article from beginning to end, and I still say she could have handled it better. If he was causing problems that she didn't know how to handle, she could have called a parent-teacher conference, approached her superiors on the matter, or any other number of methods through proper channels, which an experienced teacher with tenure ought to be aware of. Instead she made the decision to have him voted out of the class by his schoolmates, which was not only inappropriate, but teaches her class that exclusion and judgmentalism are acceptable. My verdict remains the same: if she can't deal with juvenile behavior, she shouldn't be teaching kindergarteners.

face it, her peers and even the mother of the kid allowed her to stay in the job, so there is little any of you can do about it. So nyah.
I'm always thinking that the only people who can fully judge this teacher are those who know how she teaches on a daily basis and know that this incident was isolated and not that unforgiveable so that they fire her.

That's disgusting. Having your class list reasons why they don't like someone with a neurological disorder that already inhibits their ability to socialize should be enough to get her fired as is, regardless of any consequences that the kids may experience. There's no reason he should be excluded from the class, because he can probably learn just as well as anyone, if not better. I have Aspbergers myself, and I've had to fight for myself so I could get an appropriate placing for myself. It's taken me 8 years to get placed in a normal curriculum, and I'm fortunate for no one to single me out on my disorders. For one person - a teacher no less - to single this kid out and have an entire class bully him is just unacceptable. She shouldn't have kept her job.

What's more, is that Aspbergers has helped me more than it has hurt me. I have my group of friends, and that's enough. What Aspbergers has limited me from doing, is running around outside with everyone else who I was too shy and anti-social to talk to. The absence of me getting my head smashed in from playing football every chance I get gave me plenty of time to think and work out various puzzle in my head, and to think about the world at hand, the past, and the future.

People with real Asperger's, or anything similar to it, are generally a fuckton smarter than the average person on the internet.

Same for me, except I don't have Asperger's; I apparently almost fit the criteria, but not quite, so they classed me with some sort of generic "developmental disorder" or something that they use for people who don't fit the diagnosis of anything.

Not particularly. People with Asperger's have extremely advanced knowledge in one very specific area of interest, not everything in general. I'm pretty sure I have something wrong with me, and to be perfectly honest I'm just desperate to give it a name, weather it be Asperger's or autism or dyslexia, etc. My father has an IQ of 167, and if you didn't know any better you would think the man is a brain dead vegetable. I'm actually scared to think that I have the same intellectual capacity as him, because the man is so....retarded...and ruined not only his life, but his entire family's.
