Being a child who actually has a mental disability, it angers me that people except this.

Back when I was in grade school, I was always made fun of because of my mental disability. There wasn't any sort of help for kids with mental disabilities, so I always had the lowest grades. I never had any friends, I never was "popular", and I never talked because after awhile, I learned that I make a fool of myself when I speak. I often cried in public because no one understood me. And I've attempted suicide many times.

And what's really weird that even though I didn't have book smarts, I had a lot street smarts.

I really would wish there weren't as many assholes who make fun of children with mental disabilities. But I know that's out of reach.

Let me give my two cents on this one:

It wasn't because he had Asperger's syndrome. Every kid has bad noticable habits that do get noticed at grades 1-4. It's not like he can't stop any of those activities because of Asperger's. He can, but he doesn't. And there is not a mental disorder stopping him from doing it. Chances are he chose to be that way despite being told it was unpleasant, and that was honestly coming to him.

That is horrible. That teacher should lose her job.

Nice to know grade school kids are as cruel as ever. Personally I think that the teacher had a laspe in judgment, and at least deserves her job back, she is getting punished anyway, and we've all had shitty teachers so it's nothing to act surprised about.

Also, the two kids that didn't vote against him are the most gutsy-est kids in the entire room, I hope they grow up to be members of society that are actually decent people.
