As someone with Asperger's Syndrome, I have this to say: it doesn't matter if he has an autistic disorder or not. To do that to ANY KID is mean-spirited and outright harmful. This is the stage of life where social skills are developed, and telling a kid no one likes him by a "reality TV "vote develops all the wrong ones. What the f*ck was this woman thinking? She should not be teaching elementary school, and especially not kindergarten.

The Fuhrer might be dead,but his adherents clearly are alive, well and still kicking the life out of people they have defined as subhuman or as life unworthy of living.

Hell, so do I. I was diagnosed with Asperger's in 2002, after many years of my parents wondering "Why is our son so different from normal people?" But where did it say Asperger's? It said autism, which is generally the much more severe form of the disorder which usually involves a form of mental retardation (at least, most of the professionally identified autistics I've ever known were retarded rather than just less social and slightly OCD-ish). Then again, Asperger's is just one point on the spectrum, slightly but definitely off of normal. The point where humanity is lost is well beyond that, and the kid IS only 5. I take back what I said, OK? You happy now?

If she's a fine teacher otherwise, outside this incident, then why not keep her?

aspergers is barely autism. it just makes you smart, but socially akward, like most nerds. it also makes them unable to cope with change, or certain foods, like someone with OCD.

Yeah, I'm OK. It says he has Asperger's in the link provided in the second paragraph of the article. But I have to ask: How do you know those autistic people are mentally retarded? Every dictionary definition of autism here doesn't mention having a low IQ.

Sounds like the teacher is more mentally disabled than the kid, if she is unable to comprehend how soulcrushingly painful that experience would be for a shy 5 year old. Fuck her, she should be banned from teaching.

People need to lay off of the teacher, if you haven't noticed, you're reading someone's blog on a disability site. They're leaving out all of the parts that explain the teachers actions, painting her out to be some she-devil that feeds off of oppressed children's tears. It's bias.

I wouldn't want her teaching my kids if that's the kind of thing she does in her classroom. You're supposed to support kids, not tear them down.

Exactly the schools don't need to worry about mental health its about teaching! THIS IS WHY AMERICA IS FAILING SCHOOL! AMERICA IS GROWING WEAK. IN JAPAN YOU GET KILLED FOR MAKING AN F AND SO DO MANY COUNTRIES DO THIS TOO! The western nations are doing this too because we need to have a system that PUNISHES illnesses like this so the kid goes out for some treatment! Being weak is inexcusable and humanity will never be able to become stronger if we let the kids live weak.
