Yesterday, I wanted to show one of my friends Stampers part of the Street Fighter Collab.
We were at school, and I'd forgot my laptop at home. The school computers had blocked NG, and it would fuck up if I tried to proxy my way in here.
Anyways, I asked him if I could borrow his laptop to show him the flash, but he stopped me:
*My friend*: "Newgrounds? That place has got virus's! It fucked up my last laptop!"
*Me*: "That's funny.. never happened to me - yet"
So, I'm asking you guys: has Newgrounds really got virus's? Is my computer already that fucked up that I don't even notice?

I've been here for 5 years I've never got a virus, just don't download things from people you don't trust though PMs and such.

My friend did the same thing. We were at his house and i was showing him Epic Battle Fantasy. he was like "Woah woah. Newgrounds. I'm gonna have to ask you to get offa there man. I don't want my computer fucked up." I was thinking that my computer is just like used to newgrounds or something.

Viruses on Newgrounds are an urban myth. Just like everything else, they only way to get them is by downloading crap you shouldn't be. And then there's the occasional viral 'under judgment' flash.

Never, your friend is a dumb-ass, if he did, he got it from a user, and he's stupid enough to download from a rand user. Or maybe he was multi-tasking and downloaded a virus elsewhere while using NG.

No I don't believe Newgrounds gives you any viruses, but I do think the site can make you sick ;)
I've gotten virus, I just don't think from Newgrounds, people think viruses can just come too easily though, it's actually not that easy. If you're a retard it is.
What often happens with websites which allow live uploads of user-generated content is that a few bad apples will throw a few malicious scripts around, then a few anti-virus / firewall programs will pick it up and eventually run some sort of live update system which spreads the word to a load of other anti-virus / firewall programs.
It's pretty lame, but it can happen.
