It must, must be a troll, I have no doubts about it. As was said, anyone who's heard of Led Zeppelin knows they are one of the most iconic bands of all time, and wouldn't make such an asinine comparison. I mean, compare this and this to this and this.
No "Stairway to Heaven"? But I do agree with Kashmir being one of their better songs.
I know Stairway was the obvious one, but I just felt it was too obvious, and besides, I don't personally like it too much and find it a bit overrated. I prefer some of their other stuff, such as what I linked to, but that's just my opinion.
Nobody with even the slightest level of musical knowledge would put them in the same galaxy as one another.
I do agree. I have one of Zeppelin's consort vids and when they showed a shot of the crowd, I could tell that there wasn't anyone under 17 years old there. Led Zeppilen did there music just for the fuck of it. They didn't care if it wasn't popular or not (which it wasn't).
What you tend to find is that most manufactured pop music BS has its 15 minutes of fame, and is forgotten about in a few years. The truly great bands stand the test of time. If people are still listening to the Jonas Brothers in 30 years time, I'll hold my hands up and admit I was wrong about them. Somehow I doubt it though.
That is why I think the music today is like watching someone get their scrotum man-handled by Austrian body builder; Just fucking gross.
Now that's a pleasant image...but I agree with you for the most part.
