Its fucking morons like you who contribute to the lack of entertainment on here. Well always have shitty flash. I agree to much shitty ones are getting through. But I remember there was a time when it was fucking hard to get a flash through cause everyone wanted Blam points and blams points only. Or when the underjudgement was soooooooooo fucking full it bogged the site down so fucking much that people made Auto Voters to help combat the overflow.
I found out about newgrounds in an email from a friend and it was Spear Britney. Horrid game but I played the fuck out of it. But that was back when Assassin was the highlight of Newgrounds...I don't even know if they still have that section or if it just collected dust on some forgotten link like Nudegrounds did. The overall quality of content now versus ten years ago is sooo much better. Yea your gonna have the people who waste time and brain cells dumping lame flash on us. But come on if they weren't bothering us on here chances are they'd know us in real life and make us wanna commit homicide.
If more people had a concept for effort or insight there would be less trash allowed in. And if more non contributing users gave a shit about the site as a whole they wouldn't vote for the +1 B/P or +1 Level, They'd vote cause they experienced something and felt the need to convey that experience by saying this does or doesn't suck to me. The old school members remember a time when your aura was based on your voting tendencies...which led to a lot of people giving up on flash i'm sure. In those days id only vote on a flash that I thought sucked so I could have my red aura. If it was good I just watched and enjoyed and left the Vote point for someone who wanted blue or green. Now ill watch/play 5 things on the front page and keep voting on those things only till they go away,but thats only when I even feel bothered to vote at all...after the last major site change I was hoping my lvl would drop down one so I could have my dam Nunchucks back. Took me years to get to lvl 16 where I had hoped to keep myself the remainder of my Newgrounds days and then I leave for a chunk of time and come back never to see my chuck again. lol oh well
The art Portal is a good idea I think cause I cant stand deviant art. I don't play games or watch flash anywhere else on the Internet...not since Ive found Newgrounds. I might not always like whats going on and disappear for long stretches of time but Ill always come back.
Ive long since given up on stat boosting to scour the BBS and making sigs for people who cant/wont make em for themselves. Its my release from daily strife and have contributed close to 400 user related images. My stats have gone from being I hoped to hold in high regards to something that simply reflects my lazy attitude in general. Yet im still proud of the little bit ive earned from my time here cause most of it was honest.

Ever since the redesign the Random Flash button has disappeared. Before the redesign, it would be in your face after you vote on a Flash. I used to click it a lot and that was how I watched most Flashes.

i think the ATWI80D stuff was abysmal. it was one of the reasons i stopped organizing dailytoons, people assumed that because our flashes had the same name every day they were the same thing everyday just like his stupid shit. less and less people watched, more and more people voted 2 without watching, and as a result the only way to get even remote attention was to PM tom and beg like an idiot for front page

you want your work to stand alone but at the same time its such a tiny and idiotic audience that still actually judges the flash that come through the portal, its not an accurate guage of quality anymore and it never will be

I suppose it would be the daily picks. I don't really feel like my vote is going anywhere when the things that are considered popular are going to get a daily and the things that aren't just won't. When I first joined I used to watch all of the new submissions just for kicks.

I still b/p I just dont submit anything personally I think stealing flash is wrong and one must pay for it to be a real artist.
