3d game

i have real potential for programming, all the previous programming stuff i use i went above and beyond with it, pretty much abused it's power to make something with stretched power from the original point. but for some reason i can't find out how to use flash that well. now, jumping to the chase, i want to make a 3d second person game, now currently i am the farthest thing from it. i would appreciated if someone could help me make so much as a side scroller so i can actually learn how to do it.

in short, i want a tutorial on how to make a side scroller, or better yet a second person 3d game.

And start with the absolute basics, jumping into a 2d sidescroller is a bit much. That needs to be broken down into components like character movement, keyboard input, collision testing, etc. But first you need to know the basics of actual programming.
