So ng, I've had this guitar for about a year or two. Put some rockfield swc's in it, but it still doesn't really play as well as I like. So I'm in need of a new guitar. I'm kinda liking this schecter in white, or capncrunchdapimp's guitar. Put some dimarzio's in there, I think it would sound awesome. HELP MEH NG

Eh, I don't like flying Vs, you can't sit down with them and they just feel generally awkward to play.

I play metal, rock, etc. I want something that will sound good while playing clean. I'm not a very big fan of active pickups, just don't like having to put a 9volt in it. Dimarzio's may be alot, but I would put them in a 200 dollar guitar so I think it would be worth it.

well i also play a washburn. the trick is to play a guitar you arent afraid to drop, because no matter how careful you are, it will fall one day. and if your running around on stage, it is just gonna happen more

an ibanez maybe? they are good for pure metal and work for rock. the epiphone is the best in my opinion, right next to dean

My friend has an epiphone, and it plays like a piece of junk. I've never played an ibanez. I kinda like the xiphos they make. I'm still kinda leaning towards the schecter. They have this one that looks like a les paul and it has the same electronics as the v shaped one.

I use a B.C. Rich Warlock. Great for metal and rock in general. All of my rock songs on here (with the exception of "The Beginning") I've used my Warlock and I couldn't ask for a better guitar. I got my used at a pawn shop for right at $200.

I've played and owned many guitars in my life and my Warlock as been my favorite by far.

Your guitar pretty much sounds the same as mine before I put the new pickups in. Not saying the bdsm pickups were bad, they just didn't do what I wanted.

It depends how much you're willing to spend. For the best deals, eBay is the obvious choice, but not so reliable.

If cost is not really a problem or concern, then you can't go wrong with a Gibson, but they will set you back A LOT. You could also go for a PRS, as they are beautiful to the eye and to the ears, but again, very expensive.

Next step down pricewise would be an ESP or higher end Ibanez. I would recommend either and Ibanez JEM or RG prestige (I love the RG3620Z) or an ESP MH401

Next step, Maybe a decent Fender or Epiphone. I'm a fan of the Epiphone Bullseye Les Paul, or Black Beauty. As for Fenders, i like the mexican roadhouse strat, my dad fixed one for a friend and i played it a few times and loved it.

Another step down and you get into the hundreds of smaller brands like Vintage. I've got a Vintage VP6 and have had no problems with it at all and i love it. The pick-ups could be better though.

There's not really much point going much lower down, as they would probably only last you half a year.

I got my Whitestar off of ebay for £70 and was very impressed. It was just like my brother's Epiphone Custom Black Beauty, but with a slightly higher action, which i don't like as much, but its great.

This summer, i'm going to see if I can build my own guitar. I can get all the materials and electronics of eBay, and i can get a nice set of EMGs 81 / SA / 85 for i. Can't wait!

Okay, being the guitar expert (Read: Not an an expert) I am, I have a few pointers.

Schecter is one of my favorite brands. Every one I've played has been amazing except for an extremely low end one, the Sunset I think it was called. Even the cheaper ones are nice. I own a Schecter Damien 7 String, and it's amazing. Good clean tone, and even better distorted.

I got mine used for 350 bucks, and all it needed was a new tuner (Old one was loose, and wouldn't stay in place. Guy I bought it from said he was tinkering with it, and that caused it) and a few paint touch ups. All the ones I've played in shop are amazing. If you have the cash to spend on a high end schecter, you won't be disappointed.

Ibanez is another good brand. I've had three Ibanez'. An RG120, an RG3EX1 and I borrowed a friends Prestige for about a week while he was out of town. The prestige series is downright mindblowing. Comfortable neck, and it justs sits right when you're playing it. The lower end ones I've owned are amazing for their price, and are built like rocks. Could use a pickup swap, because the stock ones are a bit weak.

ESP is another brand I recommend. I've only played one ESP, but if It's a reflection on the rest of the brand, ESP is good shit. I own an EX-50, and sadly, the electronics died. That's the only flaw, unless you don't like painted necks. It took me a while to adjust to a painted neck.

If you need some help picking one out, ask me for my AIM or MSN, and I'll help you there.

Yes, I own 5 guitars.
