Today i found a familiar-looking plant growing in the woods near my house, i had my dad come and check it out, and we confirmed it was marijuana. I live in central NJ, USA, and have no nearby neighbors, all their houses are like at least 100yds away. wtf?
btw, just so you know, it wasnt mine. this is NG, and if i was a pothead, id tell you. XD

My cousin has wild marijuana out in his field. Every year the city comes and gets rid of it. It's not exactly uncommon.

The further away their house is, the harder it would be for someone to blame them for planting it.
Maybe someone intentionally grew it near your house.
