From now on, every time I watch a flash and I feel entertained or amused. I have decided to pay that artist by clicking the ads in his or her flash. I also shall be doing the same with userpages. When I visit a blog and find myself amused or pleased, I shall pay that person with a click on the ad on their page.

I've already begun to do so tonight with several flashes and blogs, I suggest you guys do the same.

What do you guys think about this? A few seconds of our time too high a price to reward the people that keep this site running with their awesome work?

My understanding is that if everyone does this, then it will take more ad clicks to make a dollar in revenue if a lot of people are clicking ads just to click ads, but no one from a particular site is buying into the advertised products. Doesn't this kind of behavior fuck up the system some?

If people click on ads and don't buy shit, in the long run, all it will do is make the benefits of clicking ads moot and ad prices will just be driven down further.

it takes MILLIONS of views and clicks to make any game/ movie worth your time and effort. If every user instead paypaled the author like 1 cent, that would beat the ad revenue money by about 20 to 50 times.

I have to agree. It's a nice way to thank a user for entertaining you. I do it occasionally on websites I frequent often, or sites I'm known on. Shame I'm not known here.

Also, whenever an ad is clicked, the company that are paying for the advert pay the website some money. Not much, but if you keep clicking... Clicking ads only takes about three seconds, and it's not hard. I'm gonna do it more often.

This breaks the TOS, you can't click adverts unless you're interested in the content, clicking because you think you have to, or because you're told to is "click fraud". Just pretend you're interested if you're going to mention it, admitting you're clicking for the sake of it can get Newgrounds suspended - that's if an advertiser decided to browse the BBS and stumbled upon this topic - which is unlikely, but shit bro, don't want to risk it!

It's never really crossed my mind to do that, but it sounds interesting. Although clicking on an Ad really does nothing to the author (maybe like a half of a cent) it's still the thought that counts. I might start doing this.
