Solar Snake.
The solar snake is usually an adopted pet for Leprechaun. The solar snake has solar warts over it's body to absorb sunlight and store it until it unleases it's beam. ue to the pretty colours it makes the Leprechaun rides the solar snake around and provokes it to shoot it's light beam typically when it's just about to rain. This forms a spectrum of colour know as a rainbow. The Leprechaun finds this amazing. As he damn well should.

Foreigners call this creature the Rainbow man of the mountain!
But the locals call it Steve.
These creatures live among the worlds largest mountain ranges.
Like trees, they have large intricate root systems
that sprout hundreds of meters under ground in search of underwater reservoirs.
After absorbing and using up the water they need
the excess is released as water vapor through thousands of small pores on its body
and on clear sunny days, this results in a large rainbow.

This funny dude is a Bulfus. When competing for females, Bulfuses spit this colorful liquid on the sky, creating what we know as rainbows. The bigger the rainbow is, the bigger his... well you know.
