These are two terms that annoy me to shit.
1. "Video games" used to actually be a term, that divided itself between games played on a TV (New thing back then) and actual real-life games, like board games or sports. Now, that term is redundant and obsolete, since everyone who actually plays them just calls them "games." Seriously, who says "video game" anymore, other than the media and old people?
2. "Gamer" makes me want to throw things. It sounds like something the news media would say, like "VIDEO GAMES ARE NOW SUCH A POP-CULTURE PHENOMENON THAT GROUPS OF "GAMERS" NOW PLAY VIDJAGAEMZ ONLINE IN "GAMER GROUPS." It's just.....ugh. It's comparable to calling someone who dresses up like an animal a furry, like he/she isn't part of humanity and is just part of a cult or something.
Games are part of our daily lives, when it used to be just a thing for kids to do on a saturday. Everyone of all ages plays games now, so there's no need for these terms and they should've never been used in the first place.
