Muscle structure and layout? 2009-06-06 07:40:26

My human artwork isn't too good, and the main reason is because I just dont know how everything should look, I've been using Google to browse for some muscle structure resources, but none of them have really had an emphasis on drawing and so they don't really go into detail.

Anyway, I'm asking you lovely guys in the Art forum if you have any decent websites that I could use to help me learn the muscle structure in a human body?

Thanks :)

Ah just noticed in the Art Forum Rules I'm requires to provide some artwork.
Well as you can see I'm not to sure which muscles are meant to go on top of other ones, and how they are all structured.

Sorry for double post

PURRRRRR.

My advice would be to just google some images and practice some drawing with a reference. Eventually you'll get used to it and it'll become second nature.

ehhhhh.

I would try tracing muscles then try to make them myself.

I'd just go to google, and look at the images part. They seem to have some pretty good things and they usually help me when I draw. And most of the other things that helped me were when I was watching T.V.

Shut up already.

If you're using those exact words... then yeah, that's your problem right there. Google 'Muscle Anatomy".

Also, practice.

Well it seems everyone is saying the same thing, so thanks for your responses guys, I'll just practise till my arms fall off :D

But if anyone happens to find a good site still wouldn't mind knowing about it :3

well it really depends on hwat type of body your going for, massive muscles have a lot of differences compared to regular ones

Hope this helps a little

Men- more muscle definition, thicker limbs, broader shoulders and waist.

Women- narrower shoulders and waist, more stream-lined shape, larger buttocks.

Well it's okay, but I think that he means it's not the best drawn.

Visible Body.com

An extremely comprehensive 3D resource of the entire human body, the entire thing requires a subscription, but you can get a 7 day trial for free.
7 days should be enough to prt-screen anything useful you should come across ;)

You may also want to try Pose Maniacs, it's really good for practicing anatomy.

Well thats not Fleshlights best work either.

I found that recently, after studiyng muscles for a while, i had trouble drawing regular people, as their muscles arent as visible. I see it like this: You have to remember that muscles are their, but dont draw them for the sake of drawing them.

... That, and im bored...

You gave the poor guy wrong muscle structure and anatomy, now he is gonna think that's the right way and draw bodies wrong. If you don't know about human anatomy, don't try to help him by drawing a picture. Provide him some links to other sites that might help him.
