Dare I say it? President Palin. But let's not go there and be thankful Obama won.
This.
But since the question is what if specifically John McCain were president:
-War: experienced soldier, which I would hope would result in a better commander-in-chief than we'd had the eight years previous. And I believe that would indeed be the case.
-Economy: we'd probably still have the bailouts, price of gas wouldn't be too different. Not much change here.
-Immigration: much stricter, especially on the southern border.
-Foreign policy: ...well, no one would be accusing McCain of being apologetic, that's for sure. Beyond that I honestly don't know.
-Justice appointee: no clue. Probably not Sotomayor, and definitely no one with a history of gay rights support.
-Social issues: not the President's call, so no real effect.
-Assault weapon ban: what ban?
If I'm missing anything, it's probably outside my consciousness at the moment.
Still...President Palin. I'd be leading the secession movement.
