Yes, you do. You gotta go through approval, like you do in the Audio Portal. Once you've been approved, your art submissions will instantly appear in the Art Portal.

Not sure if they're going to implement Art bans. If they do though, my guess would be that they're permanent, like Audio bans.

I would think that if someone is found with stolen work, they get their artwork deleted as a warning. If they continue to submit stolen artwork, then it will result in a ban. Whether this ban will be permanent or temporary, we can't be sure.

I'm guessing no. It's probably going to be like the Audio Portal in that sense, where voting only adds your input to the score and doesn't vary your stats.

If animated gif are allowed, all rules would still apply. So if it's crap, it goes!

As for stolen art... it's the only thing I auto 30-day ban for ...I don't think there should be any type of warning for it ...in the forums or the portal. It's common sense!

In the Art Portal things will appear immediately on your userpage. Most spammers will submit dozens of images that will sit on their userpage for all the world to see, and that is fine if that's the furthest they want to go. Those images can sit there forever.

So spammers can submit all they want. Fine by me, but shouldn't there be a limit to prevent picture spamming from them? I mean, they could flood their userpage will tons of bad art. Wouldn't that cause some kind of problem?

For true artists, they will submit stuff to their user pages too. Unlike the spammers, however, they will be scouted into the Art Portal. Every single one of their submissions will automatically appear in the Art Portal.

The main distinction between the Audio and Art Portals is this: Every single artist who has a submission in the Art Portal can scout anyone. The moderators do not do the scouting, we all do.

As for the art portal, it sounds awesome! I can't wait to be able to submit my drawings and graphics into Newgrounds as I don't really have any skills in animation or audio. Though has anyone touched on the possible release of a literature portal? I know that art is more of a priority but I don't even know if the Lit portal is a myth or a possibility.

I better go scan some stuffs!

There has been talk that a Literature Portal will come out. I believe it's true, though no telling when that will be complete. Who knows? Maybe the Chat will come out before the Lit Portal.

Why no one is going to see it, and most images are pretty small as far as file size goes in comparison to flash. I would assume there is some sort of flood control on the portal and if there isn't yet and it becomes a problem then I'm sure it wouldn't take too long to implement it. We have it in Flash and on the BBS, so why not that portal. I don't know for sure.
