I don't really like the Wii, in general, but another thing I really don't like is games that are entirely unoriginal, or ones that use the name of another game, most likely an OLD game, (like the remakes of Bionic Commando and Rygar, and stuff like that), and ride their coattails off of that shit.

But the thing about the Wii, is that you instantly have a sort of "new" feeling no matter what, simply because the gameplay is so much different. Case in point, I just say a commercial for a new Indiana Jones game. And while I find that concept massively gay, it's different if you're running around whipping things in the air for real. I'd call it at least twice as gay on any other system.

Except for when your 4,000,000th relative asks you to figure out what their Wii Fit age is. Then it becomes a chore.

Please give some love to The Great One. He's Awesome.

I am neither a Wii, PS3, or 360 fanboy. I personally support Mattel and their Intellivision.

Most of the time where you're saying "IT'S LIKE I'M ACTUALLY WIELDING A SWORD/WHIP/LIGHTSABER" is when all you have to do is flick it forward to do an attack and not actually thinking you're badass like actually mimicking the moves.

So in short, as long as a game has a gimmick attached to it you don't mind it riding coat tails?

So if Bionic Commando say was on the Wii and you pointed where you wanted your arm to fire that would be acceptable?

Pretty sure Nintendo started aiming at the casual audience because the N64 and GC didn't sell that big.
I mean, why bother to continue aiming at the same audience when you don't make a lot of profit from it anyway? It has no point.

Ignorance is bliss, kids.

Dead Rising is actually much more fun on the wii. It's like you're actually hitting the zombies over the head with...well, anything, really. Much more re playability.

What I don't understand is that they have high tech capabilities, and it's not connected to the internet, it doesn't have any decent shooters, and it's filled with kid games. What the hell?!

Newer games have better engines for more power. Either that, or the developers are just using more stylized graphics. In my opinion, I prefer a unique and different visual style than an ultra realistic one.

It has internet connection. The connection for Brawl is pretty poor, but every game since then is pretty seamless. That, and over 500 downloadable games.

The Conduit, The Grinder and Red Steel 2 are promising to be great shooters. For games that are already out, try CoD:WaW, Metroid Prime 3 and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. It also has a bunch of on-rails shooters, such as house od dead 2 and 3, or Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

As for violent games in general, wii has Madworld, No More Heroes, Manhunt 2, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, the upcoming Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, etc.

Besides, what's wrong with a non-violent game? Super Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, WarioWare, and the "all-play" sports games are all games that will have you going for a long time. Violence does not make a game, you need to understand that. Sometimes, a game does need violece, or more violence. But not all good games do.

My PSN ID is xscoot. Crazy, huh?

No, that whipping mechanic is not new at all. It's going to be like every other third-person action game on the Wii: waggle any which way and you attack. It's not fresh, it's not new, it's been the same since Twilight Princess at launch. Whether a whip or a sword, it controls the same. Motion Plus could potentially change that, but I don't expect it to have much of an effect.

The Wii is new only for the casual audience that has never played games before. For everyone else, it's just a different shaped controller that substitutes waggle for a button and IR for a second analogue stick.

Thats funny, because from what I remember the N64 wiped out the dreamcast and the playstation with ease. It's also pretty funny because the wii is winning the console war in sales.

You remember incorrectly then. The PS1 dominated in sales and the Dreamcast isn't even considered to be apart of that generation. The Saturn was Sega's console for that cycle. Nintendo did actually profit off of the N64 and Gamecube, which makes you realize how much they're profiting now. I mean, the Wii and Gamecube tech aren't all that different outside of the motion controls. At a $250 price point, they've probably been making profit since launch.

It's not the Wii's fault, don't blame the fucking system. It's Nintendo's and other companies faults for not using the Wii controls to their full capabilities.

SEGA however used the controls very well in Madworld, if you haven't played Madworld then I say you have no right to call the Wii out on kids games. Also SEGA's release of The Conduit I say will not disappoint. Call this weird, but I see SEGA taking more advantage of the Wii than Nintendo.
