Today was my last day of high school :) Anyway, with things the way they are right now, there aren't a lot of job openings in the area. Especially for people right out of school. Well, I was doing a couple loads of laundry today and I had an idea.

Laundry isn't something that anyone enjoys. So I was thinking I might start a service there doing people's laundry for them. And when it's done I would either call them to pick it up or deliver it to their house for them.

I think it would be a pretty decent gig. While the clothes are in the wash, I could play video games, or write. And hell, if I didn't get any business or if it turned out to be too much of a pain in the ass, I could always just pack up and come home. (Not if I'm doing clothes for someone at that time of course.)

What do you guys think, should I go for it?

Invest in OTCBB and pink sheet stocks.

I think you'd be better off just becoming a drug dealer. Dealing is an easy going job that's great for children eight and older.

Sounds like a good idea but how much is the profit gonna be and how are you going to advertise to the people that live near you?

I don't think you'll have time for that. Work it out in your head for a few more minutes and consider the price implications of sitting around. You'd have to charge soo much money to do a load of laundry that no-one will hire you.

You have to be reasonably priced and convenient as a laundromat, considering the type of clientele that you'll be approaching.

when you talk, i dont care what it means, shouldn't just stare at you, should i?

We'll, everyone would have to provide money for the washers and dryers their own detergent or dryer sheets.

I figure I'd charge about 50 or 75 cents for washing and drying each load. Maybe 2.00 or 2.50 for delivering to their homes.

For advertising, I just kind of planned to sit inside the laundromat and offer my services to anyone who came in.

I'm thinking about going there and suveying people on what they would pay for the service before I start.

To start you off you could start a garage sale and sell old crap you don't need. You could really earn a fortune if you have a bunch of old crap.

I still don't get your logic on why I'd have to charge a lot.

You would need a little money to start out. You would need about ten machines. which would cost about 7,000...

You have seven grand?

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance! By fleeing the scene of an accident!

That's the least of my problems. I'll just sit in the laundromat until someone comes in, ask if they wish to make use of my services, and hopefully I'll find someone who does.

My big problem is what I should charge, or what people are willing to pay.
