yeah that thing's been pissing me off... i think people who run high traffic sites get it more than other people because it doesn't just check your inbox and stuff but your cache as well. it's not a hard to get rid of virus or anything but it's a friggin piss off, i've prolly got like 50 emails from people with it since yesterday. i got 5 from one guy in a row. and it's not just .exe, mostly they get sent as .pif .bat or .lnk, which makes them look a lot more harmless then they really are. bah... has anyone else got it in spanish as well?

Ugh isn't that FUCKING annoying? I've been getting at least 50 of the bastards in my inbox a day - same worm Tom. My mail server has a limit, so I haven't been able to send or receive email on my main account for a couple days.

I've been seeing a lot about this worm today on websites everywhere. They also mentioned it on MSNBC and CNN... I think the anti-virus peeps have upgraded it to a level 4 threat or spread or some shit.

BTW, im not infected. i never open EXEs (etc.) from anyone either, even people I know. i ran the fix just in case and it said my comp was clean.

Oh god, I got 15 of those emails in the time I was at work! It is frickin annoying!!!!

I got so many of those damn things that my hotmail account went over the 2meg limit. And the subject lines were different on most of them: one was called "pants" another one called "stove". It wasn't too hard to figure out it was a virus though, when a stranger sends me a 200+ k file I get a little suspicious.

Now has anyone had a problem with viral files with instant messengers? I was chatting with someone on MSNMS once and the text became very strange, it got sluggish and started repeating things. It tried sending me a file, but I refused and closed the connection. When he logged back on he told me that a friend sent him a virus, I told him that the same thing probably happened to his friend. So not only must you be careful with your e-mails, be careful of stuff sent over instant messengers too. Maybe I just have trust issues... :)

Hi everyone, there is a new virus around that copies itself and send itself to everyone who sent e-mails to you. The file has a random subject in the e-mail. never download any files ANYONE send you if they are end with .exe . Just thought i'd warn you because your in my inbox so if I get it you get it to and vice versa. If you do get it there is a way to get rid of it. Thank God, Tom! I've been searching everywhere trying to find the name of this f*$^ing virus... I too have it. However, I'm reaching 2 to 3 emails with .pif, .com, or .bat attachments claiming to be Word Documents each time I log onto my mail server.

YES!!!! Okay... good to know that it isn't just me... I got pissed at some lady cos she sent it to me, and I thougt she sent it on purpose... it has SERIOUSLY beed pissing me off...

It seems some attachments try to open all by themselves, but it failed on mine, so I guess older programs might be in trouble.

Jesus Christ! I just got a message with the exact same text in my hotmail account just this evening! I attempted to open it, but fortunately, I don't think that the virus worked its magic. I was wary not too save it directly onto the comp, for my immediate thought when I received it was "virus". Anyway, it wouldn't upload, so I canceled its download and forwarded it to my family's outlook express account, where I tried once again to open it. Thankfully, its file type wasn't registered on my computer, and I attempted to open it with a word processor program. I don't believe that the virus has had an effect on my computer yet. (WHEW; and to think I breezed over this very same article just last night, and I counda been aware of it and deleted it immediately!!!)
A WORD OF CAUTION: the attatchment i received was entitled something like stacischedule.doc.pif . Thus, be wary of anything that has multiple filetype designations, since such files can easially confuse anyone who isn't particularly familiar with identifying viruses by their filename.
I don't really know how much anyone cares that I had all of this to say, but since you've already read it, you is stuck with it, buddy boy!
