Fallout 3 has been out for about half a year and Bethesada studios annoucened a new fallout. It is called Fallout: New Vegas. It's being designed by Obsidian Entertainment (Alpha Protocol). Not much is know but the game will follow the storyline, but won't be a direct sequel.
What do you think??

I'd rather buy a total conversion mod that implements Fallout 1/2's combat system into Fallout 3. Thirdperson, turn-based. Then it would be perfect.

TES V is currently ETA 2010, it has been in that deadline for over a year.
I seriously hope this changes the gameplay, I've spent so long playing Fallout 3 that the thought of playing MORE makes me cringe.

Not yet. Because Fallout 3's story does not relate to the previous at all.
