Why? It's cheap and I'm using a constantly made clone controller.

If you have a spare Xbox 360 controller or something similar, there's one for you.

Ok, but you're paying for the post, packaging, paint, stencil and my services. Should only be around $10 for the P&P.

Plus, there's a load of YouTube tutorials on how to take apart the 360 controller - doubt there's many on the SNES controller.

I've already taken apart my SNES controller, it's very self explanatory.

You could paint a PS2 controller, a PS1 or something - not a rare or valuable one.

I'm painting one official controller of mine, I have loads. It's not rare or that valuable. I'm even painting a NES controller. The ones which I am going to paint and sell for NG are clone controllers which are cheap, work just as well as the official controllers and they're multi-regional, this means that you can use them on the PAL SNES, NTSC SNES and of course Super Famicom.

Very good idea! It's designs like that which are too cool to need the original colours. Good job!

Arrogant.

Not really, if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have made it.

i like your idea of illuminating your controller in a newgrounds theme and try to pass it off to Tom as ''merchandise''.

no, just stick with your regular controller.

You should paint it somewhat like that, except with the tank a slightly darker shade of orange.
I think that would blend better.

I have to spray the universal clone controllers, they are soled at the manufacturers (in large quantities only) for $1.75 each which I can then spray and sell above the normal price for them which is £20.

Hell, I'd buy it. I'm down one SNES controller, and I've been looking for another one all week.

Make sure you do all the spraying outside, and leave the controller, its parts and the spray cans somewhere where the fumes won't get to you. I once made the mistake of spraypainting a shit load of numbers onto some wood for a project I was working on, in my bedroom, and then I went to sleep for eight or so hours with the window and door closed. I had pounding headaches and nosebleeds for two weeks afterwards. There was a fine layer of paint on my floor and around my room as well, meaning that I must've inhaled a seriously dangerous amount of the stuff overnight.

Anyway, when I read your first post I thought of a Zelda controller, so since that was one of your ideas I think you should go with that.

I've always wanted a black / metallic silver controller. I think it would look awesome.

Pardon my lame ass attempt to add some "white shine" to is.

No matter what type of acrylic paint it is, it will start rubbing off sooner or later, and you'll have to keep repainting it.
Another thing you might try is Sharpies since they come in several colors now. If all else fails you could try enamel model paint like what Testors makes.

TomFulp asked me to supply an image of the controller once I have sprayed my prototype.

If your console is PAL then buy a gameCOMMANDER. I got loads of controllers. Here's a list that you could choose from.

But regardless of which type of SNES you have, you can always get the really cheap cloned controllers. I've never had one, but I'm going to and they're multi-regional.

If you want to buy one of them then here's where you can get the cheapest possible offer. But if you're willing to spend $200 or more on a website where you can get them for $1.75 each then go here.

Of course, I know the drill.

I once made the mistake of spraypainting a shit load of numbers onto some wood for a project I was working on, in my bedroom, and then I went to sleep for eight or so hours with the window and door closed.

Oh dear.

I had pounding headaches and nosebleeds for two weeks afterwards.

Dude, did you go to the hospital?

Totally.

Yeah, I'm crafting some triforce stencil.

Because I'm buying these controllers to paint, they look like shit but they're multi-regional and functional.

The black'n'white RetroDuo controller looks like that, but it's silver, not metalic silver.

Pardon my lame ass attempt to add some "white shine" to is.

Well, that is a good idea, however my silver paint is silver paint, not metallic grey. My black is metallic though. It wouldn't be like perfectly smooth reflection metallic silver even if I did have the can, it's not mirror paint, but it will work a bit like that.

I think the pink PS2 I have is painted and it doesn't look like it's going to fall off. I mean, the paint I'm using is for cars.

Another thing you might try is Sharpies since they come in several colors now. If all else fails you could try enamel model paint like what Testors makes.

I'm happy with testing what I have.

One day I'm going to get a few more gameCOMMANDER 1 controllers so I can spray one of them. Though, I'd love to get a gameCOMMANDER 2.

That's a brilliant design! I can make that, I am using automotive paint and stencil. Holes are easy to stencil, if I am to make the color fade from a shade of blue to a lighter shade then I should research a bit more free hand painting techniques.

I'll keep that design in mind!
