My favorite cat Kiki has disappeared. My friend says an owl probably snatched it up. I know they do that with rabbits, but would it be able to grip a cat? It was a fairly small cat. It has been weeks now so it is definately gone. But could an owl have killed it?

Well if the cat is small enough, the owl can just take it and eat it later.

Maybe you should get a bigger cat.... If it happens again...well then you're just unlucky.

Well that sucks. Just don't think about the owl taking your cat away and slowly shredding its flesh off while your cat screams in horror then it pecks the fuck out of it.
Oh yeah I went there:

Next time, do what I do: Stick a lead block in its stomach to weigh it down.
But seriously, sorry bout that, man.
Thanks aplenty to Phobotech for the great user icon.

An owl could have picked up your cat, but the it surely would have defended itself against the owl.

Sounds like your neighbours shot your cat or accidentally ran it down.
This too will pass.

My cat went missing last year and my mum was convinced that a fox had got her.
Turned up 4 days later (albeit very skinny!) and it turned out that she had gone into one of the neighbour's houses via the catflap, however they were on holiday, and the catflap was set up so nothing could get out (what a ridiculous idea). So our cat was stuck inside with no food for days until they got back from their holiday.
What I'm saying is don't give up hope, you never know if your cat might just turn up again.
Some people feel content to pour syrup on shit and call it pancakes their whole lives.
