Hey I have been working on this interface for a while now and it is pretty sweet, no I did not just make this b/c I could, it is for a game that is going to be released soon. the only thing that I am the least bit worried about is the load on the cpu because of the partical physics. If you could check it out

here

that would be cool. Just post a comment on DA or here about if the load was too much on your cpu or not. comments would be great! Thanks,

-Sanford

ps. Yes I know the mouse looks weird, that is basically the only thing on there that is not final.

It used up 2% of my processing power, though I also had a few other tabs and a video open at the time ;o

This is the menu for mayoarm's turret defense, is it not? : ]

I like the look of it. It doesn't seem to stress my CPU any more than any other flash game that is performing actions does. I will say though, that the way the cursor trail works it makes it seem like the framerate is hurting when I don't think it actually is. It doesn't really add anything to the presentation, IMO.

First off, let me say that this looks great. For real accurate speed test feedback, you should create a table of variables at the top...things like fps, OS, and any other variables you'd like looked at. KaynSlamdyke knows a great deal about this sort of thing. You might wanna ask him. :D

I think it's nice for the most part,

What fps are you using? I'm also getting what looks like lag on the mouse trail effect, but can't tell if it's just low fps or not. It'd be nice if everything altogether ran a little quicker and smoother.

I guess the dimensions of the swf are final? If so, personally I'd like to see everything shrunk down a fair bit, I'm not a fan of big giant buttons. On top of scaling everything down as a whole, I'd also reconsider the proportions.. I find the buttons are dwarfing the text in the center.

Other than that, color is nice, layout is pretty good.. overall I like it.

It's good, but it's really slow for me. It's probably my crappy internet though...
Also, you made the text cheap. If I run my cursor back and forth over the buttons, it becomes obvious that you didn't adjust the opacity using actionscript, but used movieclips for the text in the center. You could change that too.

Right now I'm getting the feeling that you all like the general design of it, but it is a little slow. I cant tell because I'm running a quad core that I OC'd so I have to do some betas. This is no problem though, I will definitely add an fps counter, reduce the amount of particals that spawn and re-code it all in OOP, then it should run fine. Oh the interface should be running at 60 fps, but I'm not positive on that, I'm in Colorado right now so I cant check.... Well thanks for the comments,
