I've already been here 4-ish. I plan on being here at least another 5. Granted I haven't deposited every day, (i wish I had deposited more by now, I'd be like 34 according to the NG stats site) but I would like to make it past 30.

Perhaps they mean to make it so that you can never reach the max level. Think about it. If it only took 5 years to get to level 60, then all of the people who have been here since the beginning loyally putting points in since year one wouldn't be any more special than the guys that have casually hung out here for 7 years. They'd both be level 60. They made it so that there is one person with the highest level who can also raise his level over time.

Don't bother, just get to a level you like the picture of and stay there.

Or be like me, and never deposit.

On topic though, 10 years is rather hasty, but you learn to appreciate your levels more. You don't need to be level 60 for anyone to notice you, anything above 30 is an achievement in itself.

To be completely honest, I reckon Tom designed the system as a joke. He originally offered naked pictures as a secret for those who managed to get enough experience and of course, Tom isn't going to give out naked pictures so probably made it so high and made it an insane amount of time to reach assuming no one would ever bother. Pimp has reached the required experience for Toms naked pics a few times now, but still nothing. :(

I think there is nothing wrong with the level requirements, right now we relatively have a lot of low level users, fewer but still many "medium level" users and a few high level users, the way it should be. Getting a high level should take years of commitment, it shouldn't be something that a stupid kid can go on here and achieve in six months.

Besides, before it took friggin' 120 years to reach the next highest level (29) .. 10 years is nothing you f00l.

I sure hope this system is exactly like the old one.

Well, respect to the OP for taking the time to break it down. I didn't know about that, and I doubt I'll get a high level now. There are plenty of other things I would rather do on Newgrounds, most of which involve the BBS.
