And no, L4D was not a scam or a waste of money, because what little there was to it gave me over 125 hours of enjoyment.
This is what it comes down to, we've all played hundreds of hours of the original game, those who haven't wouldn't have played more just because of an extra few maps, it takes well over 30 hours to complete the entire game on expert. Maybe I'm doing gaming wrong, but I don't buy games expecting any promises made to be filled, I buy based upon what is there when I'm purchasing, I buy it because I want to play what is in the game at the time of purchase, if they make extra, brilliant, if not I'm not particularly bothered.
I can understand that some of you are annoyed/upset about being mislead, but fuck, that's life it always happens and getting pissed off over a videogame won't change anything, boycotting valve because they haven't followed through on a promise? These happen every few months when Valve makes a mistake or does something wrong and then a month later everyone is happily buying from them again.
I highly doubt Valve ever intended on misleading anyone, I'd bet my steam account on it, it's just happened. I'd like to see someone address my points about modifying the core gameplay, if they did there'd be so many more complaints, when L4D2 comes out I'll still play L4D1 and I'm sure other people will, they're going to be different games with the same basic idea, much like the call of duty series.
