i have an idea! lets assume it will suck because its on the 360! and then assume it sucks because it has raiden! then lets assume its not even a stealth game because of three words we saw in a teaser trailer!!!

how about we all just wait to see what it will be like before condemning it. if you saw the trailer, it ends with the words "sneak in". dont you think that MIGHT mean something?

I'm ok with Raiden and the 360, but Lightning Bolt Action makes me really annoyed (Who cares bout' electricity, damn it, I WANT Tactical Espionage Action).

and this is where i stress the "sneak in" at the end of the trailer. why would they have that if there was no stealth in the game?

If you had a PS3 you could download the Metal Gear Solid database. IT HAS EVERYTHING ABOUT THE METAL GEAR SERIES OF GAMES.

Or you can go on Wikipedia and learn the story from there and it would be much cheaper.

Cool, it is actually a series that I'd like to get familiar with.

Though for some reason I avoid certain popular game series (examples: Zelda, new Mario games, Splinter Cell, Halo) and I'm not sure why.

But what's this... the sub-subtitle is "lighting bolt actions" instead of the classic "tactical espionage action". my guess is that this is an action/fighting game instead of the classic stealth or that Raiden got into dungeons and dragons.

so can you explain WHY in the teaser it said "RAIDEN IS BACK"??? and don't say it's his son cause his name is jack. and having different coloured eyes doesn't prove anything he could've gotten contact lenses.

UPDATE: Looks like there might be confirmation that MGS: Rising could well be coming to the PlayStation 3 and PC in addition to Xbox 360. Konami's list of games on Games Press (a private PR service for the press) now shows the title coming to all three platforms. Konami unfortunately will not make official comment at this time, so we will have to wait for all the rumors to be proven true or false until tomorrow afternoon when Sony has its conference (11AM PST).

it has been confirmed by Jack tretten that mgs rising is a multi platform game and will be coming to the ps3

Let's take an example of how it tied the game up nicely...

MGS 1 - Ocelot loses his arm
MGS 2 - It becomes apparent that he now has had liquids arm grafted onto his, which now lives on through his soul.
MGS 3 - Nothing is explained as nothing has happend yet.
MGS 4 - Revolver Ocelot was faking it.

MGS 1 - Solid Snake is thought to be the superior clone
MGS 2 - We learn of the direct clone of Big Boss, Solidous
MGS 3 - Some backstory on the clones
MGS 4 - Liquid turns out to be the superior clone.

Seriously, MGS 4 tied off nicely the MGS series, and MGS:R looks to be a nice addition with some Ninja-Raiden action.

This is just a fucking spin-off. Not even Kojima seems to take this seriously. Look at his declaration on the MGS Peace Walker, for PSP: "This is a true sequel to the original chronology. It follows the know story and it's not just a rip-off", a clear reference to this outrageous bullshit that is MGS Rising.

I feel sorry for those who said "know there's no need for a PS3", like if this stupid game that's not even following the original series and only takes the MGS name for financial motives, would make all the difference on the choice beetween the two consoles
