Audio Submission Title Editing Help 2009-05-31 07:58:33 Reply

Ok. I have a really simple but frustrating problem. I want to change the title of one of my songs in the audio portal because I noticed that there was a spelling error. It took me a whole year to realize this (yes FAIL I know...TT__TT) Well anyway, I go to the Edit Your Audio Submissions link and find out that this particular song of mine ~Lonley Isle~ (YES I know it should be "Lonely"!!) doesn't have the edit option anymore! It should also be noted that this song got #10 in the All Time Top Scoring Songs at one point in time. (Yes, I know. Unbelievable...) I don't know if that causes it to not have the edit option for that song, but I feel really stupid now realizing that this song's title has a spelling error. Can someone please help me?

Sorry, once a submission has a certain number of listens (I forget how much it is) you can't edit it anymore.

You could delete and resubmit, but that would lose download/listens count.

It would, however, generate a new wave of exposure for your track. It's a tradeoff, and unless I'm mistaken it's not in breach of any rules.

Good sir, i wouldnt worry about the song title. I've seen plenty of misspelled songs on Newgrounds, so dont worry about it. :)

How about you join the NGPD? Just what is the Newgrounds Police Dept.? Click the link and find out for yourself!

It's 3000, once it passes that count, you no longer have the option to edit the song.

Actually, the "Remove" button is gone, along the "Edit" button if you either reach 3000 listens or someone uses the song in a flash. So deleting isn't an option.

I think the best option would be PM-ing Wade about it and ask him to change it.

I doubt he'll bother though, as he probably gets fuckloads of various requests (name changes and such)
