Since when did we manage to predict our evolutionary course in the distant future?

Plus by the year 3000 we'd probably be able to alter our own genes.

Wow, so in the year 3007, we'll all be brown and live for 120 years?
doesnt sound like much of a change, except that we'll live a bit longer

WE'll evolve to a higher form of consciousness in 2012!
First time I searched I got a bunch of Jonas Brothers crap. Then when I found the article, it was crap just like Tramps said.
Also lol @ brown skin tone. That'd be de-evolving. ;P
Yeah, article is crap. I'd put more faith into the predictions of psychics and mediums than I would these scientists.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances

We're constantly evolving, you dumbshit.
Well, to be completely technical, we can only evolve as quickly as our population changes as evolution is related to the frequency of genes in any population. So it all depends on who is having how many kids and who is dieing and so on.
I believe that, if we are changing at all, we are doing so very very slowly. Our population only grows and grows thanks to limited environmental pressures and it's honestly not very difficult to reproduce. Evolution is neither good or bad... It is what it is... But I have to say that our species is susceptible to some less than favorable genes thanks to our modern lifestyles and technology. It's even been statistically proven that intelligent, successful people reproduce less frequently than uneducated, lowerclass people.
A sad thing... But untill people wise up I guess it's just... What it is.

Evolution is a gradual and constant process. It's happening every time a kid's born. However, humans tend to protect the weak, and don't seem to strive for intelligence the way that they once did. So factors like that tend to slow the process down. That's why you can't "chart" the progress of future evolution.
