Hi. I am going to buy a tablet, but first i need to know what you'd recommend. It would also be nice if you could give me some general information, like... Is the size really important, etc... I'm thinking of buying a Wacom (Bamboo?). Seems like they're pretty good, but I'm not sure as I don't know much about them.

Thanks in advance!

Consider your desk space. I have an Intuos that's pretty big, so it's kind of a drag to use at times.

Bigger space, however, allows for more sweeping, shoulder movements (which is the preferred method for doing less detailed stuff, traditional animators will tell you to be gestural).

With bigger space comes bigger cash requirement to buy it, however.

And, naturally, how much use it'll see. Will you justify the $300 purchase for an intuos, the $2000 for a cintiq, or will you feel a lot more comfortable with the $50-$100 in the graphire/bamboo range?

The advantage of the intuos above the graphire and bamboo is the tilt function and the increased touch sensitivity, which is missing in those lines. But it's more expensive, obviously.

Thank for the info, Rathanos! I don't think I'll spend much on a tablet for now, so I'll probably go for a Bamboo until I get better ;P Thanks again for helping!

I use a Bamboo fun; wasn't too expensive and it works just fine. It has touch sensitivity and shortcut buttons that you can preset. ( I use them for undos and blank keyframes)

Thanks :) Do you know what's the difference between Bamboo fun and a standard Bamboo A6?

There's almost no difference between the Bamboo and the Bamboo Fun.
The Bamboo Fun arrives with some extra software (photo software, etc), and has a pressure sensitive eraser. Your decision if you wants to pay more for those features.

NEED A ARTIST FOR YOUR PROJECT (GAME, WEBSITE, INTRO, WHATEVER)??

I've decided that I'm either going to buy a Wacom Intuos4 A6 or a Wacom Bamboo Fun A5... I just don't know what's most important; the extra features you get with an Intuos4, or the size...?

I'm a beginner, and I also wanna buy a tablet, but I really don't know which one...
This is because of the money, and because of the size of the tablet...
I don't know anything about this things. A friend of mines has one, but he's at the moment busy with Pivot...
