I'm programming in FlashDevelop, not Flash CS3 or CS4, so there is no simple way to change my registration point. How would I go about doing this with code?

So what if you use FD? You'd change it the same way you'd do in Flash. Either edit the symbol in Flash or at runtime put it in a container and move it in that space.
