ugh...I hate all this wide layout business. I like to get little bits of information in a narrow layout. The big side borders keep the site from turning into a chaotic mess of information, and I really don't want Newgrounds to become a clone of all the other flash sites.

can't image how I'll navigate through this site on my laptop after the next redesign...

Very good. I was a tad annoyed by the play button for the ones under judgment so thank you kindly.

I have a few suggestions for filtering of spam for movies under judgment. People seem to vote based on size alone, as you may know, and spammers use that as a way to get past judgment. Maybe for movies under judgment we can have a note of what percent of the file width of the flash is audio. If it's a startling amount like 95% and the movie is 9 mb, then we would know it was spam and vote accordingly. I don't know if that's even possible to know from your point of view, but if it is in fact possible I think it would contribute to the filtering.

I'd offer more suggestions but you guys have done a very good job and don't know anything else to add for now. Thank you for the updates again.

I'm tired of saying this; if you use adblock you're fucking up the layout, but you're also fucking up Newgrounds. Turn off adblock and it'll display fine; if every user used adblock newgrounds wouldn't manage to survive.

I have an issue from time to time where the flash video begins to freak out as soon as the page loads and then it forces me to the bottom of the webpage, refusing to let me scroll up to do or see anything. I can hear the movie playing, but can't scroll up to see what's going on.

Again, out of the last 5 movies I checked out, it happened twice.

I'm also using Firefox, and displaying everything on a 1680 x 1050 widescreen display.

WTF?! I can't read the authors comments OR read the reviews OR write a review OR vote on the flashes anymore? Whats going on?

There will be lots of adjustments in the redesign. We share most of the same concerns as everyone else but we had to start somewhere with this.

I'm using adblock with Firefox 3 and Im not getting the bug everyone is talking about.
For some reason it still shows the NG specific ads, but not the banner ads.

It's related to adblock. It gets rid of the banner ad, but there's an ad for the store next to the banner. Since the banner's gone, the store ad gets moved up.

Solutions:

1)
Turn off AdBlock. Liljim has said they're not going to go and start fixing things to make it easier for people who block ads, since the only source of revenue for Newgrounds is through ads.
2)
Make a custom AdBlock rule to block that square image.
However, it won't make behind that image clickable, but at least it'll look nice.

Ah nice, I set it back to classic now.
Though I really love the update, I missed the old layout already.

GET THIS STRAIGHT... All the other Flash sites will always be clones of Newgrounds. That is the only way it will ever be.

And our Flash was in-page from 1999-2001.

The man's right. Newgrounds had already had the idea years before other flash sites bothered. Not to mention the first flash portal. Newgrounds was first to a lot of things when it comes to net innovation.

Brilliant stuff Tom, I understood it was only a moment of holding tight until this thing got some much needed attention. I might keep the new layout, I'm already used to it and it feels awesome.

Making classic mode wide is unnecessary and looks really ugly, but otherwise, this update is swell.

Would it be possible for the awards stay in the same place as they did in Classic, too? I think that's my only other gripe at this point.

The autoplaying version ofcourse. That's the whole point of the new layout. People who can't figure out the PLAY THIS GAME button get to see the Flash automatically.

Im going to have to agree here.

YOu would be surprised how much influence those awards have.
I have non NG member friends that I show my videos and other videos to and they'll show it to others almost automatically if it's got an award of some sort that's noticeable.

Classic mode looks like old mode, but wide... Because wide is the way things will be going.

Well, the main problem with wide is that you have to remember that a lot of people people are stuck on 1024 x 800, and wide just doesn't work with it.

The update was a must. Nicely done!
