Most video games have amazing scores to compliment the gameplay perfectly, and for some reason, if I get tired of the music, if the music isn't particularly good, or if I just want to listen to some tunes, I have a few favorites that go well with games. What about you guys? I think for about any grisly game on the 360 extreme metal blends well with the intense action. Slayer goes great with Gears of War for instance. I also think that Dark Side of the Moon syncs perfectly with OoT.

Actually, sometimes I find it entertaining to play really violent video games to fast-paced, upbeat, almost difficult to listen to happy music. It's humorous, and if the music is bad enough, you can channel your frustration into popping the next guy.

When I played World of Warcraft, really complicated progressive rock always got me through its monotony.

Listening to Weird Al helps me calm down after getting pwned in Halo 3.

I usually browse the ambience section of the audio portal for my xbox play list. I also have some goa trance and other slower and non distracting songs. I like things that don't sound worse when the volume is lowered. If i can't hear the footsteps in call of duty then i'm screwed.

I was listening to Madness while playing Gears of War 1 as the beserker breaks through the wall early on, and I just broke down in laughter.

The music in Tribes 2 is alright, but it tends to get boring after a while. To this end, I play Daft Punk when I play Tribes 2.
