aww crap! this might be my computer, but i think the wide layout made newgrounds movies and games boring and crappy! NOTHING is the same! its like a plain white page with crap all over it!

Why fix what's not broken? Because you can make it better.

I like the new format better, however I find that certain flashes lag quite badly on start up. Auto-Play flashes and animated advertisements make for a laggy browser. Thank goodness for the 'night' (not sure what to call it) option.

Hmm... I don't like it.

I dont like this, I hope you put in an option to make it able to view the site as we did before, its not the same when the movie autoloads every time, i think the "watch this movie" function should still be able to be chosen too.

Nice work on the design though, I just think its unneccesary , if its working dont fix it?

What could possibly be more related than something made by the same person? Nothing is more frustrating than submitting something and getting thousands of views, while a previous part in the same series gets a handful of views and no reviews because there is no good way to cross promote your own movies. Casual viewers don't give a shit about userpages, they just want a quick and easy link.

Author info is further down the page than ever before, I think it would be nice to give authors a bit more control back by allowing them to decide what to showcase next to their movie. Your soapbox comments seem a bit weird as well, Authors should be proud to display their work on Newgrounds. This should be the site they're linking their friends to, that's the entire point of this update.

And no, we don't really have a lot of control of our userpage. Sliding your top 4 more recent submissions to the top is nice, but those may not be what you want to display all the time.

The movie page is you at the mercy of the public, you are on a soapbox. Anyone can come in and leave their review/vote, they can decide the fate of your movie (blam/save), they should also have influence over where your movie fits in the context of the site. I've never noticed it being ABNORMALLY incorrect. You just gotta step back, trust the system and be comfortable with a world where not everything you interact with you are going to be in control of. :D

I'm a bit happy because authors can make movies in higher definition thanks to this new fullscreen feature. The larger screen and lights is perfect for inviting friends over for a flash movie marathon, and gives a new, more cinematic look to videos.

Ummm, this might be a problem. Take a look at the scroll-bar. It doesn't let me go any further then the "related-submissions". No author comment, no reviews, no voting, no author data...nothing.

I am also getting this problem.

OK, this is a pain in the ass for me now. I click on an under judgement flash and I scroll down to vote on it.....and I can't scroll down! It won't allow me to go past the bottom of the flash movie screen!

Any ideas?

Okay, now it fixes just after I say whats wrong. That's the second time.....

Ughh change it back tom. It totally clashes and looks tacky as shit. Plus, you're now copying other site ideas which defeats what we all love about NG.

Please change it back, not to mention it lags the page.

My brother and I are getting that too.

I like the new layout, but I've had to clear my cache a few times in Firefox 3.0.10 because the information below the movie (vote bar, description, reviews, etc) doesn't appear.

Why don't you just put links in the Flash itself? Lot's of people add a "Watch Part 1" button on the menu or after the movie ends. That would probably be even better than the links on the side/botom of the Flash.

With the author's name and comments where they are now I'm considering adding giant links to my userpage/website to the top of the Flash where people will actually see them.

Yea, aside from the cooler layout, wtf happened to our medal areas for the games with medals? Every time I clicked on a game with medals that I still have yet to unlock, I only get the game or movie and no author/artist/audio/file size etc. information at all. You may want to put the old layout back for a while, then when you have worked out the bugs with this, re-launch the wide layout, that sound like a plan MindChamber, Tom, Luis, Wade, Stamper, and everyone else who might or might be involved in this?

I DID notice that the "Related Submissions" bar was moved to the bottom. It's a step, a small step, bet a good step nonetheless :)

I rather like this new layout. Though i do have a couple of complaints too. These have probably already been mentioned but i'm giving my opinion anyway.

For one, the auto load. It gets a little annoying having the movie/game running while reading comments and stuff. Some sort of option for accounts to make movies non-auto load would be nice. (Though have auto load as the default. That would keep every happy, wouldn't it?)

Second point, the lack of rating information. I get that theres still the E T M A stuff, but it was nice to see what they had the rating for. (For example, will the movie have a lot ofviolence, or be sexually explicit. stuff like that should be shown before hand too, in my opinion.)

Finally, i personally think the information of the submitter should be where the recomendations list is, and vice versa. Makes it easier to see who made it, and keeps the sense of this flash being someones when its along side the flash instead of under it. (When you can't see the makers information without searching down the page for it, the flash just feels... random, even though i know its not.)

I understand a lot of work went into the layout, and it is very good, but i just felt i should share these little things that bugged me about it.
