You guys should feel lucky, I didn't get to watch the Microsoft press conference because I was in school. I read some highlights from the show and it sounds like they did an alright job. The new Metal Gear being on the Xbox 360 was definatly a surprise; does anyone know if it's exclusive or not?

I kept a list so I could remember what was announced. I'll post it here too in case someone finds it useful.

Overall, a pretty good press conference, but I don't think it's anything Sony or even Nintendo can't outdo. I was hoping for another Duffy song this year though :(

So, is Microsoft going to take Sega/Sony's place as Nintendo's main rival? That really did seem like a pretty vicious, apparent attack on the WIi.

EA's conference is today. If they don't announce it 360/PC exclusive expect that to be a "megaton" at Sony conference tom.

I'm not a Beatles fan, but I might get it if this game turns out to be really good. I thought that it was really cool that you could have multiple people sing at the same time, it definatly adds a lot of realism to the game.

Just sounds like a cheap attempt to appeal to the casual market if you ask me. I can honestly say that I wouldn't use any of these features if I owned an Xbox 360. I'm sure some people will find this really cool, but to me it's pointless.

Metal Gear Solid Rising will be multiplatform. The same picture of Raiden was shown in the PSP/PS3 Famitsu and they never mentioned exclusivity in the press conference. Let's face it, if it were exclusive, Don Mattrick would have said it over and over again. The engine and fan base are already on the PS3, so it certainly makes sense for it to be multiplatform. Also.

I absolutely love how in the trailer for the game, you can see the Beatles as the rise from these young clean-shaven 50's styled rock-and-roll boys playing in small clubs to being the bearded and trippy hippy rockers they became in the 60's. Plus some of the stages, are just absolutely wacked-out. They did a nice job with the game's presentation.

Very nice! I wouldn't use it myself.. on my PS3 the only games I have are Wipeout and PixelJunk Monsters.. specific downloadable games, I wouldn't buy a game that I could buy on disc.. but people will, and it's nice to cater to that.

The EA conference is starting with girls games on the Wii/DS or something.. blah, as if the game industry folk want a 10 minute demo of this :P I mean, they should show it since it's their games and stuff and the idea is to show off what they're doing, but what I'm really interested in is their proper stuff. Oh well, I'm sure they'll make a shitload off that stuff.

I was impressed - it reminded me of Race Driver: Grid, which is a good thing. Not going to buy it, but the only racing game I'll likely by any time soon is GT5.
