I think they are both pretty stupid, I haven't seen much American dad however and family guy is full of unfunny jokes and retarded fillers.

It's actually pretty fun to those who have seen it rather than just assume what it's about. If you're not into pop culture or random flash backs it's like a political version of Family Guy and succeeds where it fails, with relevant humor. Roger is awesome.

I don't watch either these days but I'll go with American Dad. At least they have the goddamn decency to not recycle jokes and rub it in the audience's faces.

I've seen 2 series of it, The only one I found particularly funny and political was when they moved to Saudi Arabia.

American Dad! is basically Family Guy with no flashbacks. Just think about it, if FG didn't have flashback, it will be AD, well enough about my rambling, I personally like American Dad now. It seems that I look more forward to it now.

I only speak for myself here - as I don't know if everyone else thinks the same or is just wanting to jump on the bandwagon - but I just am not too fussed with Seth McFarlane's work unless if I'm in a lazy mood and want to watch something that generally does not need much effort to watch. I'm hit and miss with his work - sometimes he does good and sometimes he does dreadfully.

Those are my exact thoughts. American Dad has a little more story than Family Guy, but less random humor. Seth McFarlane's situational jokes aren't funny, and his random jokes are occasionally funny just because of the fact that they're random.
