Soon enough gay marriage will be a national right. Just wait until our generation is in power.
We might say this now, but there's still a significant number of young people that either don't reallycare on many social issues, or want things to remain the same. In the case of the latter, I also believe that people with these sort of more conservative views are the ones more likely to get places in power, in politics or elsewhere. I'm pretty sure my parents were saying the same things in the late '60s and early '70s... whether we've had a good amount of positive change in the Western world since then is debatable, I think.

What's sad is how future generations will look back on this, and see how prejudiced people still were even in this age when we're meant to have moved on.
I honestly think we left the '90s and somehow back to the '50s on many different levels. A lot of us seem to be scared of things that aren't actually there all over again. Some might argue its a backlash to being "too free", which I've got to say, I think is pretty stupid. I could talk at length about it probably, but I'm not perfect here. It could easily turn contradictory, what I have to say... eh, I'll stop now.
I know one friend of mine will definitely not be pleased by this particular news.
