Oh Snap! A Spyder!

A 2009 Can-Am Spyder (Phantom Black). Kinda looks like the motorcycle off of The Dark Knight; or if Batman had a hybrid snowmobile/bike (I've heard most of that while driving it around, as well as suggestions that I should wear a batsuit and cape when riding it).

For $19,000 it's a pretty sweet toy. 997cc engine, electronically-governed speed of 110 MPH (I've done 0-60 in around 3-4 seconds), custom wheels/bodykit, and electronic stability system. The fucker even has reverse. It's more of a 3-wheeled convertible than a bike.

The view from the back (the sexiest in my opinion). I always get questions like does it handle like a bike, how does it turn, etc. It handles nothing like a bike other than acceleration; except it's a 950 lb trike so a 1000cc engine has to compensate a lot. It also slows really quickly. I can let off the gas and coast from 90 to 65 in about 3 seconds (not that I drive 90+....... <_< >_>). There's no leaning at all; it's all steering. And seeing how it looks like a snowmobile, it handles a lot like one too. Usually if I'm going quick around a turn it has a tendency to try to toss me off since I'm not leaning with the turns. It still runs and turns better than what you would expect.

Do you pronounce it bum-bar-dee-eh (Canadian), or bomb-buh-deer (American)? Everyone in Maine (Canada Jr.) says it the Canadian (correct) way and New Hampshire (Boston Jr.) says it the American way, except with stresses on the "r" sounds.

Haha. My first day riding it (which was also the first day I learned to drive manual), I pulled up to a light with a car full of young girls (prosti-tots as I call them) gawking and screaming at me. I then proceeded to stall it at the light with them passing me, laughing and honking.

1) You can lock the handlebars on bikes.
2) It's 900+ lbs and can't fit into the bed of a normal truck.
3) It needs a specific key to start.
4) That's a hell of a dick-move to vandalize a bike out of all the cars and other bikes parked outside.

It has an integrated front and rear brake pedal and no front brake lever like most bikes. It took me a week to get use to it as well as get my starting from a stand-still right.

Really damn quick. I'm trying to find the correct computer connection to disable the limiter. I'm figuring it can do 150-175 without the governor.
