Tattoos

Recently , in the past year ,a few people I know have got tattoos. Two friends have got them done , one guy who's father is absolutely covered in them has two and the other guy got one on his chest.

The question i want to ask is there any real point in getting one?
The people (excluding my two friends) are too immature to have them, one guy got his done at the age of 16 ( and got the cliche Chinese symbol for bravery of some sort of shit) and a girl got "no regrets" on her wrist which is quite ironic.
out of my two friends i like the guy who got his tattoo on his chest tattoo , it looks far better and he got the tattoo because he likes the style.( i'm not going to go into any great dept in case they stumble on this topic).
I've thought of getting one , but was told by both friends to not be undesisive and to but really sure of what to get as it is costly etc, i knowing what they mean knowing me i probably get Chun Li on my arm ^-^

Well, it can pick up ladies and make you socially accepted in some places if that's what you mean by "real point."

The good reason why people get tattoos is because it symbolizes an aspect or unique event in a person's life. A tattoo can show a person's interest or influence, and the more unique the tattoo, the more it expresses a person.

Maybe it sounds a little too textbook-ish, but it's true. I know that when I do get a tattoo though, it's one that's unique and represents who I am.

yes but most of the time its either a mod of a tattoo which some one else gets or a picture that a client hands to the artist and says " do what you can" .

I think there is a point in tattoos...They look fucking kick-ass! Unless you get some writing, tribal, or some asian style symbols (what a waste of ink).

If I had to guess it would be around $600. It's intricate and it's on the chest/rib cage, a difficult area to work in.

Yeah tattoos are expensive. My friend got the word "Timshel" on his left pec and that ran him $150. No color just shading, and the artist was pretty reputable.
