I was on my 360 today in the marketplace, and ended up checking out the Community Games section. I looked at all of them and checked out what the most popular game was. It was a game... no, that is being very generous; all it does, from what I understand, is make your controller vibrate. It's called Rumble Massage. It costs 200 Microsoft points.

So, I'm curious; has anyone played any of the Community Games on Xbox 360? Are they really so bad that the best thing to come from it is a program that just makes your controller vibrate for $2.50?

Essentially, with community games, you are wading through an ocean full of shit, to only find a few pieces of tarnished gold.

It's pretty sad. The only useful tool would be the TV color calibration "game" I saw on there, but that's it.

It's a lot of games that are shareware quality but there are some good games that have come out of it. Weapon of Choice being one of them that comes to mind. You can head over to xbox.com and look at the catalog of games and see if any interest you.

There was one vaguely interesting one I played that was pretty much Amplitude, one of the nice things was that it supported Guitar Hero controllers.

Are there any games there which are free and are not "trial-quality". I can't help shake the feelings some of the devs wanted their games to be freeware but microsoft doesnt like running a service which offers free games.

Perhaps. I know a lot of companies want their Downloadbable content or Arcade games to be cheaper or free but Microsoft spikes up the price. Community games are to get smaller developers known and to make a little money on the side so who knows. Most community games are really dirt cheap and the ones that are worth buying aren't too expensive.
